Recommended accessories:
1 - device for fixing in a fixed position and installing in the control point of the camshaft intake cams 0197-A2;
2 - device for fixing in a fixed position and installing in the control point of the camshaft of the exhaust cams 0197-A1;
3 - crankshaft lock 0197-B;
4 - bolt for fastening devices 1 and 2;
5 - timing chain holding device 0197-E.
Disconnect the battery.
Remove the right wheel.
Remove the protection under the engine and the right fender liner.
Remove the air cleaner assembly and intake manifold.
Unscrew the bolts (1) and bolt (2).
Remove the air filter housing cover (3).
Unscrew the bolts (4) and remove the decorative engine cover (5) (disconnect the fasteners in area "a").

Caution: On EP6DT engines, plug the air inlet and outlet holes of the turbocharger, the supercharger heat exchanger, and the throttle body.
EP6DT engines: Disconnect the intake air pressure sensor connector (in area "a").
Disconnect the electrical connectors supplying power to the ignition coils (2) (in area "b").
Remove the air duct (4).
Remove the cover (3) of the air filter unit.
Remove the filter element.
EP6DT engines: Unscrew the bolts (5) and remove the fitting at the air outlet from the turbocharger (6).
EP6DT engines: Unscrew the bolts (8) and remove the charge air pipe (7).
Remove the engine suspension eye (1).
Remove the ignition coils (2).

Disconnect the intake camshaft position sensor electrical connector (in area "d").
Disconnect the oil vapor recirculation tube (in area "c").
Unscrew the nut (13) and remove the protective cover (12) of the wiring harness.
Remove the heat shield (14) from the cylinder head cover.
Move aside the ignition coil electrical harness (11).
Loosen the bolts (9) and remove the cylinder head cover (10).

Caution: Do not rotate the crankshaft by the mounting bolt (15) counterclockwise (risk of loosening the timing belt pulleys, crankshaft and oil pump).

Install the crankshaft calibration pin [3] into hole "e" located on the crankshaft bearing cap housing.
Turn the crankshaft clockwise (tightening) using the bolt (15) to bring it to the check point (in zone "f").

Install the fixture to prevent the exhaust camshaft from turning [1].

Assemble the camshaft rotation locking devices [1] and [2] using the bolt.
To facilitate assembly of the devices [1] and [2], rotate them slightly (clockwise and counterclockwise) camshafts1 intake and exhaust valves using a 27 mm universal wrench.

Note: If tools [1] and [2] do not fit together or are difficult to fit, remove and install the timing chain again.
Installation
Remove the camshaft rotation locking devices [1], [2], [4].
Remove the crankshaft calibration pin [3].
Install the cylinder head cover (10) and bolts (9) (see chapter "Tightening torques for 1.4 and 1.6 l petrol engines").
Note: When installing the cylinder head cover, check the presence of sealing gaskets (12), (13) and (14).

Install the parts in reverse order.
