Recommended fixtures:
1 - a device for fixing in a fixed position and installation at the control point of the camshaft of the intake cams 0197-A2;
2 - a device for fixing in a fixed position and installation at the control point of the camshaft of the exhaust cams 0197-A1;
3 - clamp for crankshaft 0197-B;
4 - a bolt of fastening of adaptations 1 and 2;
5 - fixture for holding the timing chain 0197-E.
Disconnect the battery.
Remove the right wheel.
Remove the protection under the engine and the right fender liner.
Remove the air cleaner assembly and intake manifold.
Loosen the bolts (1) and bolt (2).
Remove the air filter housing cover (3).
Loosen the bolts (4) and remove the decorative engine cover (5) (unfasten the clamps in the area «A»).
Attention. On EP6DT engines, use plugs to close the air inlet and outlet holes of the turbocharger, the boost system heat exchanger, and the throttle body.
EP6DT engines: Disconnect intake air pressure sensor connector (in the zone «A»).
Disconnect the electrical connectors for power supply to the ignition coils (2) (in the zone «b»).
Remove the duct (4).
Remove the cover (3) air filter unit.
Remove the filter element.
EP6DT engines: unscrew the bolts (5) and remove the fitting at the air outlet from the turbocharger (6).
EP6DT engines: unscrew the bolts (8) and remove the intake air hose (7).
Remove the engine suspension lug (1).
Remove ignition coils (2).
Disconnect the intake camshaft position sensor electrical connector (in the zone «d»).
Disconnect the oil vapor recirculation tube (in the zone «With»).
Loosen the nut (13) and remove the protective cover (12) wiring harness.
Remove heat shield (14) cylinder head covers.
Move aside the electrical harness of the ignition coils (11).
Turn away bolts (9) and remove the cylinder head cover (10).
Attention. Do not rotate the crankshaft by the fixing bolt (15) counterclock-wise (risk of loosening the timing pulleys, crankshaft and oil pump).
Install in hole «e», located on the crankcase of the covers of the crankshaft bearings, the crankshaft calibration pin [3].
Rotate the crankshaft clockwise (puff) with a bolt (15), to bring it to a checkpoint (in the zone «f»).
Fit the exhaust camshaft anti-rotation tool [1].
Fit the exhaust camshaft anti-rotation tool [1].
Assemble the camshaft anti-rotation devices [1] and [2] with the bolt.
For easier assembly of tools [1] and [2], turn the (clockwise and counterclockwise) inlet and exhaust camshafts1 with a 27 mm Allen key.
Note. If tools [1] and [2] do not fit into each other or are difficult to install, remove and install the timing chain again.
Installation
Remove the camshaft anti-rotation devices [1], [2], [4].
Remove the calibration pin [3] of the crankshaft.
Install the cylinder head cover (10) and bolts (9) (see chapter «Tightening torques for 1.4 and 1.6 liter petrol engines»).
Note. When installing the cylinder head cover, check the presence of gaskets (12), (13) And (14).
Install the parts in reverse order.
