1. The low coolant level sensor, found on some late models, is located on the side radiator tank. The sensor consists of a float, a magnet and a sealed magnetically controlled contact (reed switch).
2. The sensor cannot be repaired. If it is faulty, it should be replaced. Drain the coolant and remove the old sensor (has a pin half) and install a new one (see photo).
5. Do not attempt to remove or install the sensor if there is coolant left in the radiator or if it is in any position other than its normal vertical position, as this may damage the sensor (or) the radiator side tank.
