1. The low coolant level sensor found on some recent models is located on the side of the radiator reservoir. The sensor consists of a float, a magnet and a sealed magnetic contact (reed switch).
2. The sensor is beyond repair. If it is defective, it should be replaced. Drain coolant, remove old sensor (has a pin half) and install a new one (see photo).
5. Do not attempt to remove or install the sensor if there is coolant left in the radiator or if it is in any position other than its normal vertical position as Doing so may damage the sensor (or) side radiator tank.
