Please note: On the Lucas CAV/Roto-Diesel injection pump, the maximum speed adjustment screw is sealed and taped during factory assembly. If your car is still under warranty, this seal must not be removed. Adjusting maximum RPM requires the use of a tachometer - see alternative methods. in section 9.


1. Start the engine and bring it to normal operating temperature.

2. Ask an assistant to press the gas pedal all the way down and check that the maximum engine speed corresponds to the value specified in Specifications. It is prohibited to keep the engine at maximum speed for more than 2-3 seconds.

3. If adjustment is necessary, turn off the engine and loosen the lock nut. Turn the maximum speed adjustment screw in the desired direction and tighten the lock nut again (see photo).

4. Check the adjustment by repeating the procedure specified in paragraph 2.

5. Turn off the ignition.
