2. Disconnect the adjusting ring and cable sheath from the bracket (see photo).

5. The cable is installed in reverse order. Adjust the cable as follows. Ask an assistant to fully depress the gas pedal and check that the fuel injection pump feed lever touches the maximum engine speed adjusting screw. If this is not the case, remove the spring clip from the adjusting ring (see photo), move the ring and install the spring clip into the groove next to the metal washer. With the gas pedal released, check that the feed lever touches the minimum speed adjusting screw. In the case of an early Bosch pump, the engine must be warmed up, otherwise the lever will touch the fast idle speed control.
