2. Disconnect the adjusting ring and cable sheath from the bracket (see photo).
3. Working in the cabin, if necessary, remove the bottom panel "torpedoes" and disconnect the cable end clamp from the top of the gas pedal.
4. Pull the spring damper away from the bulkhead and pull the gas pedal cable through the engine compartment.
5. Installation of the cable is done in reverse order. Adjust the cable as follows. Have an assistant fully depress the gas pedal and check that the feed lever on the injection pump touches the maximum engine speed adjusting screw. If this is not the case, remove the spring clip from the adjusting ring (see photo), move the ring and install the spring clip in the groove next to the metal washer. With the gas pedal released, check that the feed lever touches the minimum speed adjusting screw. In the case of an early Bosch pump, the engine must be warmed up, because. otherwise, the lever will touch the fast idle control.
