- close the sliding/tilting roof panel before removing;
- turn off the ignition and disconnect the ground wire from the battery;
- remove the headlining;

- disconnect electrical connector 1 (figure 10.94) from the drive mechanism of the lifting and sliding roof panel;
- disconnect the water drain tubes 2 from the sliding roof panel;
- unscrew the 3 nuts securing the sliding and lifting roof panel;
- remove the sliding/tilting roof panel 4 through the rear of the vehicle.
To install the lift and slide roof panel assembly:
- make sure the water drain tubes are not pinched or clogged;
Caution: Do not use grease when installing the water drain tubes (risk of cracking of the ends of the water drain tubes when in contact with grease).
- install a sliding roof panel on a car;
- screw on the 3 nuts securing the sliding and lifting roof panel and tighten them by hand;

- install gaskets 1 (figure 10.95), angle-shaped bent sections made of 2.5mm thick sheet steel at the rear and side of the sliding and lifting roof panel;
- install 2 spacers, bent into a corner shape from 2.0 mm thick sheet steel, at the front of the sliding and lifting roof panel;
- tighten the sliding/tilting roof panel mounting nuts to a torque of 7.5 N·m;
- make sure that no external objects can interfere with the proper installation and locking of the sliding and lifting roof panel (proximity to stamped body parts, electrical wiring harnesses and side airbags);
- connect electrical connector 1 (see Figure 10.94);
- check the clearances and alignment of the lift/slide roof panel;
- perform initiation and training of the lift/slide roof panel positions;
- check the functionality of the sliding and lifting roof panel several times;
- further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal;
- connect the ground wire to the battery;
- initiate all electronic systems.
