Timing chain

Timing chain (diesel 1.6 l):
3 - timing chain;
4 - timing chain tensioner;
c - mark for the tooth side;
d - marking zone with brown chain link on the same side of the chain (link 7);
e - marking zone using a brown chain link on the same side of the chain (link 1).

Timing chain (petrol engines 1.6 l, EP6, EP6D):
1, 2 - timing gear;
3 - timing gear bolt;
4 - timing chain;
5 - timing belt upper cover gasket;
6 - bolt;
7, 8 - chain guides;
9, 10 - guide mounting bolt;
11 - chain tensioner bolt;
12 - timing gear;
13 - toothed crown;
14 - O-ring seal;
15 - timing gear ring bushing.

The intake camshaft is driven by the exhaust camshaft, which in turn is driven by a timing belt.

Caution: When installing, align the "d" and "e" marks on the drive chain with the "c" marks on the camshafts.

Timing drive

Timing drive:

5 - camshaft pulley;
7-bypass roller of the timing belt;
8 - pulley with torsional vibration damper;
9 - cooling system pump;
10 - rod of the dynamic tensioner of the timing belt drive;
11 - fuel injection pump drive pulley;
g - installation at the camshaft pulley check point;
h - installation at the control point of the torsional vibration damper.
