Timing chain
Timing chain (diesel 1.6 l):
3 - timing chain;
4 - timing chain tensioner;
c - mark for the side of the tooth;
d - marking area with a brown chain link on the same side of the chain (link 7);
e - marking area using a brown chain link with the same side of the chain (link 1).
Timing chain (gasoline engines 1.6 l, EP6, EP6D):
1, 2 - timing gear;
3 - timing gear bolt;
4 - timing chain;
5 - gasket for the upper timing cover;
6 - bolt;
7, 8 - guide chains;
9, 10 - guide mounting bolt;
11 - chain tensioner bolt;
12 - timing gear;
13 - ring gear;
14 - ring seal;
15 - timing gear ring bushing.
The intake camshaft is driven by the exhaust camshaft, which in turn is driven by a timing belt.
Attention. Align marks when installing «d» And «e» on the drive chain with labels «With» on the camshafts.

C - old design;
D - new design;
4 - camshaft pulley.

Timing gear drive
Timing gear drive:
5 - camshaft pulley;
7 - bypass roller of the timing belt;
8 - pulley with a torsional vibration damper;
9 - pump of the cooling system;
10 - rod of the dynamic timing belt tensioner;
11 - a pulley for the high-pressure fuel pump drive;
g - installation at the control point of the camshaft pulley;
h - installation of a torsional vibration damper at the control point.
