All vehicles described in this publication have a 12-volt on-board electrical system. The negative battery terminal is connected to the vehicle's ground. The battery is located in the engine compartment.

To start the engine, a starter with forced engagement of the gear is used. The starter switch is an integral part of the ignition switch, which activates the traction relay installed on the starter.

The installed alternator has a rated power depending on the engine type and can be manufactured by Mitsubishi, Paris Rhone or Valeo.

The generator is driven via a V-belt from the crankshaft. The electronic voltage regulator, located on the back cover, is used to regulate the battery charging current.

The charge indicator lamp on the instrument panel indicates that the electrical equipment is functioning normally in the part related to the battery charging circuit.
