Replacing the side airbag (Peugeot 307)

To remove the side airbag:
  • turn off the central airbag system;
  • remove the ceiling trim;
  • release the belt retainer on the B-pillar by pressing it down, using the elasticity of the material, but without causing it to break;

Caution! Do not use any tools that could move the body of the part; all actions must be performed manually.

  • remove the ceiling handle spacers;

Please note: The roof handle spacers are screwed in from the front passenger side. It is impossible to remove the spacers without damaging them, so replace them after each removal.

  • disconnect the electrical connector from the airbag generator;
  • release the three airbag generator fasteners;
  • remove the three airbag shell pre-attachment eyes from the vehicle body;
  • remove the side airbag unit.

To install a side airbag:
  • apply double-sided tape to the back of each new spacer on the airbag shell;
  • install the airbag generator into place, first securing it to the rear stud;
  • hook the rear eye;
  • secure the rear spacer in the retainer;
  • hook the two center eyes, taking care to properly position the shell under the B-pillar splitter;
  • secure the front spacer in the retainer. Make sure that the casing is not twisted;
  • remove the double-sided adhesive tapes and stick them to the body;
  • secure the airbag generator;
  • connect the electrical connector to the airbag generator;
  • carefully insert the retainer into the door frame post;
  • further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following;
  • turn on the central airbag system;
  • initiate all electronic systems.
