Recommended oils and operating fluids
Maintaining your vehicle in good condition is based on alternating two types of maintenance—Service A and Service C. Service A includes changing the engine oil, oil filter, and a series of checks, while Service C, in addition to the work included in Service A, includes additional scheduled maintenance that should be performed at a Peugeot service center every 60,000 km. It is recommended to perform an interim maintenance between two scheduled maintenance intervals.
The vehicle's instrument cluster has an indicator showing the mileage remaining until the next maintenance. Based on vehicle operating conditions and driving style, it will automatically determine the remaining range and inform you of the number of kilometers remaining before scheduled maintenance "A." Maintenance intervals are:
- no more than 30,000 km, or once every two years for cars with gasoline engines;
- no more than 20,000 km, or once every two years for vehicles with direct injection diesel engines.
- The mileage between two type "A" maintenance services is determined by the following three parameters:
- total number of revolutions of the engine crankshaft;
- oil temperature in the engine lubrication system;
- periods of vehicle downtime.
Based on these three parameters, the on-board computer will calculate the remaining mileage until the next maintenance (it will be more or less close to the planned interval) and inform about it using a special indicator in the instrument cluster. Depending on the vehicle operating conditions, one or more type A services may be carried out between two scheduled type C services.
Note: Due to extended service intervals, engine oil levels should be checked regularly. The need to top up oil between two oil changes is a normal procedure and is not considered a malfunction. Therefore, in the period between two scheduled maintenance services, it is recommended that you take the initiative to visit a Peugeot service station for an intermediate service. Intermediate maintenance is carried out in the middle of the run between two scheduled ones. It should be kept in mind that insufficient oil level in the engine can lead to serious damage, so it is necessary to check the oil level in it at least every 5000 km.
The increase in the interval between periodic maintenance has become possible thanks to the design improvements of cars, as well as the emergence of high-quality oils for them.
Important! Use only high-quality motor oils that have been certified and recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
