The battery runs out in a few days

• Internal battery failure (chapter 5).
• The battery terminal connections are loose or corroded ("Weekly checks").
• Worn or improperly adjusted accessory drive belt, if applicable (chapter 1).
• Low generator charging current (chapter 5).
• The generator or voltage regulator is faulty (chapter 5).
• Short circuit causing battery discharge (chapter 5 and 12).

The battery charge indicator light does not go out when the engine is running

• Worn, broken or improperly adjusted accessory drive belt (chapter 1).
• Internal fault in the generator or voltage regulator (chapter 5).
• Breakage, disconnection or poor connection of electrical wiring contacts in the charging circuit (chapter 5).

The battery charging indicator light does not come on

• The lamp burned out (chapter 12).
• Open, disconnected or poor contact of the wiring in the control lamp circuit (chapter 12).
• Generator faulty (chapter 5).

The lighting fixtures are not working

• The lamp burned out (chapter 12).
• Corrosion of lamp contacts or socket (chapter 12).
• The fuse has blown (chapter 12).
• Relay faulty (chapter 12).
• Break, disconnection or poor contact of electrical wiring (chapter 12).
• The switch is faulty (chapter 12).

Instrument readings are inaccurate or erratic

There are no readings from the fuel level and temperature gauges

• The sensor is faulty (chapter 3 and 4).
• Electrical circuit break (chapter 12).
• The pointer is faulty (chapter 12).
• BSI unit malfunction (chapter 12).

Fuel level and temperature gauge readings are constantly at maximum

• The sensor is faulty (chapter 3 and 4).

The sound signal does not work or works poorly

The sound signal does not turn off

The sound signal does not work

• The fuse has blown (chapter 12).
• Wire or wire contacts are broken, disconnected, or poorly secured (chapter 12).
• The sound signal is faulty (chapter 12).

The sound signal is intermittent or unsatisfactory

• Bad contact (chapter 12).
• The horn mount has become loose (chapter 12).
• The sound signal is faulty (chapter 12).

The windshield wipers do not work or work poorly

Windshield wipers do not work or work very slowly

• The windshield wiper blades stick to the glass or the windshield wiper drive mechanism jams (chapter 1 and 12).
• The fuse has blown (chapter 12).
• Wire or wire contacts are broken, disconnected, or poorly secured (chapter 12).
• BSI unit malfunction (chapter 12).
• The windshield wiper motor is faulty (chapter 12).

The wiper blades cover too much or too little of the glass area

• The wiper arms are not installed correctly on the shafts (chapter 12).
• Increased wear of the windshield wiper drive mechanism (chapter 12).
• The electric motor or the windshield wiper drive mechanism supports are poorly secured (chapter 12).

The windshield wipers don't clean the glass well

• The rubber of the brushes is dirty, worn out or missing ("Weekly checks").
• The tension springs of the windshield wiper arms are broken or the axles of the arms are jammed (chapter 12).
• The cleaning additive to the washer fluid does not effectively remove dirt from the glass ("Weekly checks").

The windshield washers do not work or work poorly

One or more washer nozzles are not working

• The injector is clogged (chapter 12).
• The supply hose is disconnected, pinched or clogged (chapter 12).
• Not enough fluid in the washer reservoir ("Weekly checks").

The washer pump is not working

• Breakage or disconnection of electrical wiring and connectors (chapter 12).
• The fuse has blown (chapter 12).
• The washer switch is faulty (chapter 12).
• The washer pump is faulty (chapter 12).

Electric windows do not work or work poorly

The glass moves in only one direction

• The switch is faulty (chapter 12).

The glass moves slowly

• The window regulator is stuck, damaged or lacking lubrication (chapter 11).
• Contamination of the window regulator with particles from the trim or internal elements of the door (chapter 11).
• The electric motor is faulty (chapter 11).

The glass does not move

• The fuse has blown (chapter 12).
• Relay faulty (chapter 12).
• The electric motor is faulty (chapter 11).
• BSI unit malfunction (chapter 12).

The central locking system does not work or works unsatisfactorily

The system is completely broken

• The fuse has blown (chapter 12).
• Breakage or disconnection of electrical wiring and connectors (chapter 12).
• BSI unit malfunction (chapter 12).

Locks close but do not open, or open but do not close

• The actuator rods or levers are broken or disconnected (chapter 11).
• The lock motor is faulty (chapter 11).

One of the locks doesn't work

• The electric motor is faulty (chapter 11).
