Special fixture:
1 - pliers «Facom D60A».
Removing
When filling the brake fluid reservoir to the maximum level, remove its filter and partially drain the fluid using a clean syringe to avoid overfilling the reservoir.
Loosen the front wheel bolts. Raise and secure the vehicle so that the front wheels are off the floor.
Remove the front wheels.
Pads from TEVES
Remove the spring (1).
Remove the covers in the area «A» and unscrew the bolts (2).
Attention. Be careful not to kink the brake hose.
Move and hang the brake caliper (3).
Remove the brake pads.
BOSCH brake pads
Remove the bolt (4).
Attention. Be careful not to kink the brake hose.
Handle the brake caliper carefully so as not to create stress on the upper column.
Loosen the brake yoke (5).
Remove the brake pads (6) and brake pads (7).
Cleaning
Attention. Do not use compressed air to clean brakes.
Option 1: Clean the brake disc and collar with a recommended brake cleaner. Allow the product to drain and dry the surface of the disc.
Dry the brake disc and caliper with a paper towel.
Option 2: Use a dust extractor certified by the manufacturer.
Installation
Visually check:
- tightness around the perimeter of the brake caliper piston;
- normal condition and position of protective covers;
- brake disc wear (see below).
Replace defective parts.
Attention. There must be no traces of oil or grease on the brake pads.
Move the brake caliper piston using tool 1 (install a gasket between tool 1 and the brake shoe to push the piston into the seat as much as possible).
Check the brake fluid level.
BOSCH pads: install brake pads (7) and pads (6). Reinstall the brake yoke (5).
Attention. Be sure to replace the bolt every time you remove it (4).
Install new bolt (4).
TEVES pads: install brake pads and caliper (3). Wrap the bolts (2). Install covers in the area «A» and adjustment mechanism (1).
Install the parts in reverse order.
Note. Slowly press the brake pedal several times with increasing force before moving the vehicle.
Check the brake fluid level and top up if necessary.
