Installing the gearbox housing (Peugeot 207)

Apply E15 sealant to the joint plane of the clutch housing.

Install the gearbox housing.

Caution: Check for the presence of the oil bushing in the hole "e" of the gearbox housing.

Tighten the bolts (71) to 125 Nm.

Tighten the screws (73) with new washers to a torque of 20 Nm.

Install:
  • locking plate (70) of the fork pin (flat part on the finger groove);
  • split ring (74) into the bearing groove;
  • bolts (72) (tighten to 15 Nm).

bolts (72) (tighten to 15 Nm).


Install:
  • spacer ring (79) with shoulder towards bearing;
  • 5th gear thrust sleeve (78);
  • 5th gear drive pinion (77);
  • synchronizer assembly (75) and (76).

Engage 3rd or 4th gear using the gear selector.

Shift into 5th gear.

Remove the input shaft nut.

Remove the input shaft nut.


Apply E6 to the secondary shaft threads.



Tighten the secondary shaft nut to 65 Nm and lock it by bending the metal plates so that they fit into the splined grooves of the shaft.

Remove: 5th gear synchronizer hub and 5th gear fork.

Remove the 5th gear hub-synchronizer assembly.

Note: Observe the markings made during disassembly (as shown by the arrows).

Press the locking ball into its socket in the "g" area while pressing on the hub-synchronizer assembly (as shown by the arrows).

Engage 3rd or 4th gear using the gear selector.

Shift into 5th gear.

Apply E6 to the threads of the input shaft.

Tighten the input shaft nut to 725 Nm and lock it.

Connect the fork and its finger with the pin (81) (new).

Apply E15 sealant to the 5th gear housing.

Apply E15 sealant to the 5th gear housing.


Screw in the level control plug (83) without tightening.



Install the bolts (82) and tighten to 125 Nm.

Tighten the plug (83) to 22 Nm.

Tighten the plug (83) to 22 Nm.
