General description of the braking system (Peugeot 305)

All Peugeot 305 models have a modern braking system with disc brakes on the front wheels and drum brakes on the rear wheels. The brakes are operated by a hydraulic system equipped with a servo booster and having a dual master cylinder operated by the foot brake pedal. The braking system includes a rear brake pressure regulator that prevents the rear wheels from locking.

The handbrake is cable-operated and acts only on the rear wheels.

Brake system parts manufactured by different companies may differ from each other and are not always interchangeable. Be careful when purchasing spare parts and, if possible, compare them with old ones.
