1. The distributor should be lubricated periodically. Apply a small amount of Vaseline or high temperature grease to the distributor cam contours to ensure lubrication on the back side of the contact.
2. Remove the runner and drop 2 drops of motor oil into the recess on the roller. Place a drop of oil on the rotating axis of the moving contact.
3. Place 2-3 drops of oil into the gap between the support plate and the cam shaft to lubricate the centrifugal governor weights.
4. Make sure there is not too much oil or Vaseline. Excess should be removed with a rag, since if grease gets on the breaker contacts, problems with starting the engine may occur.
