1. The distributor should be lubricated periodically. Apply a little Vaseline or high temperature grease to the distributor cam contours to provide lubrication to the back of the contact.
2. Remove the slider and put 2 drops of engine oil into the groove on the roller. Apply oil to the pivot pin of the moving contact.
3. Put 2-3 drops of oil into the gap between the base plate and the cam shaft to lubricate the weights of the centrifugal governor.
4. Make sure that there is not too much oil and vaseline. Excess should be removed with a rag, because. if grease gets on the breaker contacts, problems with starting the engine are possible.
