All pistons have two compression rings and one oil scraper ring. The upper compression ring has a chrome plated outer surface, and the second ring has a trapezoidal cross-section. Figure 387 shows a cross-section of piston rings, where the location of the ring joints is also visible. Piston rings have markings that should be on top when installing the rings.
