Pic. 6.44. Clamps for fastening belts when measuring the average position of the rear suspension
- to measure the average position of the rear suspension, make the brackets shown in fig. 6.44. It is also possible to use a set of clamp halves PR 1713.55, having previously drilled holes in them up to a diameter of 11.5 mm;
Pic. 6.45. Bolt location (1) for fastening the tow hitch
Pic. 6.46. Location of adjustment elements: 1 - bracket; 2 - nuts for fastening the bracket; 3 - slings attached to the bracket
- install brackets or halves of clamps on bolts 1 (pic. 6.45), intended for fastening the towing device, and fix them with nuts 2 (pic. 6.46);
Pic. 6.47. Car rear suspension adjustment: 1 - cross member; 2 - screw mechanism for spring compression
- fasten under the platforms of the lift crossbar 2 with screw mechanisms 1 (pic. 6.47) for compressing springs;
- pass the belts with rings or slings through the brackets and fasten them to the shaft of the screw mechanism to compress the springs 2;
- adjust the length and position of the belts so that they take the most vertical position when they are tensioned;
Pic. 6.48. Measuring the middle position of the rear suspension: 1 - measuring tool; 2 - body edge; H2 - the middle position of the suspension
- by rotating the shaft with a screw mechanism to compress the springs, compress the suspension springs so that both the left and right sides of the vehicle body draft is H2 (middle suspension position) between body edge B (pic. 6.48) and platform floor;
- make sure that the previously obtained value of H1 when measuring the middle position of the front suspension remains unchanged.
