The vehicle control system uses lever, packet and push-button (key) switches. Lever switches are located to the right and left of the steering column.

The lighting and headlights are controlled by the left switch (figure 1.47), while the following functions are performed:
1) The front and rear headlights and lamps are switched on by turning the ring switch A according to the symbols:
- headlights and taillights are off;
- side lights are on;
- low/high beam headlights on;
- automatic operation of lighting devices;
2) switching between low and high beam headlights is done by pressing the lever towards you;
3) The front and rear fog lights and lamps are switched on by turning the ring switch B or C:
- turn forward - on;
- turn back - turn off.
Ring switch B is installed on vehicles with rear fog lights. When switched on, the corresponding indicator lights up in the instrument cluster. The lights light up simultaneously with the low or high beam headlights.
Ring switch C is installed on vehicles with front fog lights and rear fog lights:
- front fog lights are turned on by turning the ring one click forward (the inclusion is confirmed by the corresponding indicator lighting up in the instrument cluster);
- front and rear fog lights and taillights are turned on by turning the ring forward two clicks (their inclusion is confirmed by the corresponding indicator lighting up in the instrument cluster).
Warning! In clear and rainy weather, both day and night, the front fog lights and rear fog lights have a blinding effect on drivers of other cars.
Automatic mode of operation of lighting devices. Side lights and low beam headlights are turned on automatically when the outside light is weak and turned off when the outside light becomes normal. The mode can be turned off by pressing the "Auto" button (see figure 1.47) on the end of the switch when power is supplied and holding it down for at least 4 s.
When the automatic mode is switched on and off, a sound signal is emitted. When the automatic mode is switched on, the message "Lighting devices operate in automatic mode" appears on the display.
Direction indicators
The direction indicators only work when the ignition is on and are operated by a lever switch (see figure 1.47):
- up: the right turn signal is on, the relay clicks and the right arrow of the corresponding indicator in the instrument cluster flashes. Rapid clicking of the relay and flashing of the indicator indicates a malfunction of one of the right turn signal lamps;
- down: the left turn signal is turned on, the relay clicks and the left arrow of the corresponding indicator in the instrument cluster flashes. Rapid clicking of the relay and flashing of the indicator indicate a malfunction of one of the left turn signal lamps.

Windscreen wipers and washers are controlled by a lever switch located to the right of the steering column. The car can be equipped with one of two models, each of which has five positions (modes). In the first version, the windscreen wiper modes are selected by the following movements of switch A (figure 1.48):
- "0" - initial position, windshield wipers do not work;
- "I" — intermittent windshield wipers;
- "1" - windshield wipers operate at normal speed;
- "2" - windshield wipers operate at increased speed;
- "v" — one-time activation of windshield wipers (press down).

In the second option, the selection of windshield wiper operating modes is carried out by the following movements of switch B (figure 1.49):
- "0" - initial position, windshield wipers do not work;
- "Auto" — windshield wipers operate in automatic mode;
- "1" - windshield wipers operate at normal speed;
- "2" - windshield wipers operate at increased speed;
- "v" — one-time activation of windshield wipers.
In position "I" (intermittent mode) the windshield wiper speed is proportional to the vehicle speed.
In the "Auto" position (automatic mode) the windshield wiper speed is proportional to the intensity of precipitation.
When the car stops, the windshield wiper moves more slowly (positions "1" and "2"), but when the car starts moving, the previous operating mode is restored.
Note: If more than one minute has passed since the ignition was turned off and the windshield wiper was on, it must be turned on again. To do this, first move the lever to the "0" (off) position and then select the operating mode.
In the "Auto" position, the brush speed is automatically adjusted depending on the intensity of precipitation.
When the automatic mode is turned on, the message "Windshield wiper is operating in automatic mode" appears on the display screen. In the event of a malfunction, a buzzer sounds and the message "Windshield wiper automatic mode is faulty" appears on the display. In this case, the windshield wiper switches to intermittent operation mode.
Attention! When washing your car, you must turn off the "Auto" mode.
Windscreen washer and headlight washer. To turn on the windscreen washer, move the lever towards you. This turns on the windscreen washer for a certain period of time, followed immediately by the windscreen wiper.
The windshield washer and headlight washer are switched on simultaneously for 2 seconds only when the low beam or high beam headlights are on.
Rear window wiper. The intermittent rear window wiper mode is activated by turning the ring switch A (see figure 1.48 or 1.49) until the first click.
The rear window washer is switched on by turning the ring switch A beyond the first click. In this case, the windscreen wiper and washer are switched on for a certain time.
On the 206 SW model, when the rear window is opened, the rear window wiper and washer are automatically switched off.
