An indicator that is constantly on or flashing when the engine is running indicates a violation or failure in the operation of a separate unit or vehicle system.
The lighting of a number of indicators is accompanied by an audible signal or the appearance of a corresponding message (inscriptions) on the multifunction display.
Attention! If the central malfunction indicator lights up while driving «Stop», stop the vehicle immediately, observing all precautions, and find out the reason for turning it on.
Central fault indicator «Stop» * associated with malfunction indicators of a number of systems, such as:
- drop in engine oil pressure;
- dangerous rise in coolant temperature;
- drop in coolant level;
- the parking brake is on;
- drop in brake fluid level;
- malfunction of the electronic brake force regulator.
Indicator* of oil pressure and temperature drops in the engine. When the ignition is turned on, the indicator lights up and goes out after the engine is started. If the indicator lights up while driving, a message appears at the same time «Stop» and the buzzer sounds, this indicates:
- about the drop in oil pressure in the engine;
- insufficient oil level in the lubrication system;
- excessively high oil temperature;
- malfunctions in the engine lubrication system.
Stop the engine, let it cool down and restore the oil level.
Note. If the problem is not eliminated by restoring the oil level and lowering its temperature and the indicator continues to burn, movement is prohibited. The vehicle needs to be towed.
Indicator* of temperature and coolant level drop. When the ignition is switched on, the control indicator lights up and goes out after the engine is started. If the indicator lights up while driving, a message appears at the same time «Stop» and the buzzer sounds, this indicates:
- about engine overheating;
- low coolant level;
- malfunctions in the engine cooling system.
When the indicator turns on, stop immediately, let the engine cool down and add coolant.
Attention! High pressure in the cooling system. To reset it, first unscrew the cap of the expansion tank two turns, relieve pressure, and only then unscrew the plug to the end.
The parking brake indicator, low brake fluid level indicator and malfunction of the electronic brake force regulator lights up briefly when the ignition is turned on and goes out.
If the indicator lights up before starting, it indicates that the vehicle has not been released from the parking brake. If the indicator lights up while driving, a message appears at the same time «Stop» and the buzzer sounds, this indicates:
- about incomplete disengagement of the parking brake;
- a drop in the level of brake fluid in the supply tank below the permissible limit;
- Illumination simultaneously with the ABS indicator indicates a malfunction of the electronic brake force regulator.
Stop, start the engine and check the brake fluid level. If necessary, bring the level to normal.
Attention! Driving with a malfunction in the brake system (low brake fluid level) Absolutely forbidden.
If the cause of the indicator burning is a malfunction of the electronic brake force regulator, then you can continue driving at low speed, observing safety precautions, to the service station.
Anti-lock brake system indicator (ABS). The functioning of the main ABS units is controlled by an electronic system before and during the trip.
The yellow ABS indicator lights up briefly when the ignition is switched on and goes out after the engine is started.
If the ABS indicator does not go out or lights up while driving, the ABS system is faulty. At the same time, the vehicle's ability to brake is fully preserved, but without the ABS functions.
Low battery indicator* (AB) lights up when the ignition is turned on. It goes out immediately after starting the engine.
If the indicator does not go out and periodically lights up while driving, this indicates a malfunction:
- contacts of AB or generator terminals;
- in the battery charging circuit from the generator;
- generator drive belt;
- generator or voltage regulator.
A short trip to the nearest service station is possible, but the battery is constantly discharged and the engine overheats if the defect is in the V-belt. It is preferable to evacuate the car.
The yellow engine diagnostic indicator lights up every time the ignition is turned on.
If the indicator lights up when the engine is running, this indicates a violation in the electronic engine control system (ECM) - power supply systems, fuel injection, ignition, exhaust gas toxicity reduction (OG). The risk of failure of the catalytic converter increases.
Glow plug indicator (only for diesel engines) yellow, lights up when the key is turned in the ignition. Start the engine with a starter only after the indicator goes out. If the indicator does not light up, then there is a malfunction in the preheating system (glow plugs). On a warm engine, the indicator should not light up, and the engine can be started immediately.
The minimum fuel level indicator is yellow, from the moment it starts burning, the car can drive about 50 km with the remaining fuel (with a fuel tank capacity of 50 l).
Fuel filter water indicator (yellow color) indicates the ingress of moisture into diesel fuel.
Urgently contact the service station to service the fuel injection system - it may fail.
Seat belt indicator*. Depending on the vehicle's equipment, an audible signal may also sound when the indicator lights up. The indicator goes out after the seat belt is fastened.
Indicator* (yellow color) Passenger's airbag deactivated indicator lights up continuously when the ignition is switched on if the passenger's airbag is not connected to the system. At the same time, the following message appears on the display: «Passenger airbag disabled».
The airbag indicator lights up yellow when the ignition is turned on and goes out. If the indicator does not light up or go out when the ignition is turned on after starting the engine, but flashes intermittently or constantly lights up while driving, this indicates a malfunction in the airbag system.
