An indicator that is constantly on or flashing while the engine is running indicates a malfunction or failure of a separate unit or system of the vehicle.
The lighting of a number of indicators is accompanied by a sound signal or the appearance of a corresponding message (inscription) on the multifunctional display.
Warning! If the central "Stop" malfunction indicator lights up while driving, stop the vehicle immediately, taking all safety precautions, and find out the reason for its activation.
The central "Stop" malfunction indicator * is linked to malfunction indicators for a number of systems, such as:
- engine oil pressure drop;
- dangerous increase in coolant temperature;
- coolant level drop;
- parking brake engaged;
- brake fluid level drop;
- electronic brake force regulator malfunction.
Indicator* of drop in pressure and oil temperature in the engine. When the ignition is turned on, the indicator lights up and goes out after the engine starts. If the indicator lights up while driving, the message "Stop" appears and a buzzer sounds, this indicates:
- about the drop in engine oil pressure;
- insufficient oil level in the lubrication system;
- excessively high oil temperature;
- malfunctions in the engine lubrication system.
Stop the engine, let it cool and restore the oil level.
Note: If restoring the oil level and lowering its temperature does not eliminate the malfunction and the indicator continues to light, driving is prohibited. The vehicle must be towed away.
Indicator* of temperature and low coolant level. When the ignition is turned on, the control indicator lights up and goes out after the engine starts. If the indicator lights up while driving, the message "Stop" appears and a buzzer sounds, this indicates:
- about engine overheating;
- low coolant level;
- malfunctions in the engine cooling system.
When the indicator comes on, stop immediately, let the engine cool down and add coolant.
Attention! There is high pressure in the cooling system. To release it, first unscrew the expansion tank cap two turns, release the pressure and only then unscrew the plug completely.
The parking brake, low brake fluid and electronic brake force regulator malfunction indicator lights up briefly when the ignition is turned on and goes out.
If the indicator lights up before starting, it means that the parking brake is not released. If the indicator lights up while driving, and the message "Stop" appears and the buzzer sounds, it means:
- about incomplete release of the parking brake;
- the brake fluid level in the supply tank drops below the permissible limit;
- lighting up simultaneously with the ABS indicator indicates a malfunction of the electronic brake force regulator.
Stop, start the engine and check the brake fluid level. If necessary, bring the level to normal.
Warning! Driving with a faulty brake system (low brake fluid level) is strictly prohibited.
If the reason for the indicator being lit is a malfunction of the electronic brake force regulator, then you can continue driving at low speed, observing safety precautions, to the service station.
Anti-lock braking system (ABS) indicator. The operation of the main ABS units is controlled by the electronic system before and during the trip.
The yellow ABS indicator lights up briefly when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts.
If the ABS indicator does not go out or lights up while driving, the ABS system is faulty. In this case, the car's braking ability is fully preserved, but without the ABS functions.
The battery discharge indicator (AB) lights up when the ignition is switched on. Immediately after starting the engine, it goes out.
If the indicator does not go out and lights up periodically while driving, this indicates a malfunction:
- contacts of the terminals of the battery or generator;
- in the battery charging circuit from the generator;
- alternator drive belt;
- generator or voltage regulator.
A short drive to the nearest service station is possible, but the battery is constantly discharged and the engine overheats if the defect is in the V-belt. It is preferable to evacuate the car.
The engine diagnostic indicator is yellow and lights up every time the ignition is turned on.
If the indicator lights up while the engine is running, it indicates a malfunction in the electronic engine management system(ECM) - power supply systems, fuel injection, ignition, and exhaust gas (exhaust gas) toxicity reduction. The risk of failure of the catalytic converter increases.
Glow plug indicator (for diesel engines only) yellow, lights up when you turn the key in the ignition. You can start the engine with the starter only after the indicator goes out. If the indicator does not light up, then there is a malfunction in the pre-heating system (glow plugs). When the engine is warm, the indicator should not light up, and the engine can be started immediately.
The minimum fuel level indicator is yellow, from the moment it starts to burn the car can travel approximately 50 km with the remaining fuel (with a fuel tank capacity of 50 l).
Fuel filter water indicator (yellow color) indicates that moisture has entered the diesel fuel.
Urgently contact a service station to service the fuel injection system - it may fail.
Seat belt indicator*. Depending on the vehicle's equipment, an audible signal may also be emitted when the indicator lights up. The indicator goes out once the belt is fastened.
Indicator* (yellow color) the passenger airbag deactivation indicator lights up continuously when the ignition is turned on if the passenger airbag is not connected to the system. At the same time, the display shows the message: "Passenger airbag deactivated".
The airbag indicator lights up yellow when the ignition is turned on and goes out. If the indicator does not light up when the ignition is turned on or does not go out after the engine is started, and flashes periodically or is constantly on while driving, this indicates a malfunction in the airbag system.
