Attention! Failure to follow the recommendations below may result in battery failure, burns to drivers, and damage to circuits and electrical equipment in both vehicles.
When starting the engine from the auxiliary (additional) source of energy, such as the battery of another vehicle, the following points must be considered:
1) use special wires for connecting to the battery, taking into account the power of the engine. So, for cars with engines with a working volume of up to 2.5 liters, the cross-sectional area of the starting wires must be at least 16 mm2. For diesel and gasoline engines with a working volume of more than 2.5 liters, the cross-sectional area of the starting wires must be at least 25 mm2. The cross-sectional area of the wire must be indicated on its packaging;
2) the batteries of both cars must have the same voltage rating - 12 V;
3) pre-warm the discharged battery before installing it on the car, as it can freeze already at a temperature of -10°C;
4) check the electrolyte level in the discharged battery. If necessary, restore it by adding distilled water;
5) check the correct connection of the battery to the vehicle's on-board network;
6) do not disconnect the rechargeable battery from the on-board network;
Attention! When starting, contact of car bodies should be excluded.
7) release the vehicles with the parking brake, shift the gear selector of the manual gearbox to the neutral position, the automatic gearbox to the parking position «R». Turn off the ignition;
8) turn off all electricity consumers;
9) check the reliability of the clamps and the integrity of the insulation of the starting wires;

10) wires must be connected in the order shown in fig. 1.4;
Note. When connecting the clamps of the starting wires, make sure that the clamps do not come into contact with each other and the clamp «+» starter cable with housing (body, engine) car.
Attention! In order to avoid damage to the on-board electronics, as well as the generator voltage regulator, the car engine - «donor» must be stopped.
11) Start the engine of the receiving vehicle and bring it to a steady idle. When starting, the inclusion of the starter should not exceed 7-10 s, with an interval between inclusions of 30-40 s.
After starting the engine, disconnect the starter wires in reverse order.
