In addition to petrol engines, Peugeot 206 cars can be equipped with diesel engines of the DW series: DW4 TD, DW10 TD, DW10 ATED, DW8. They have proven themselves well in many previously produced Peugeot models.

The DW10 TD engine is a four-cylinder, in-line engine with overhead camshaft and direct fuel injection. The high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) and coolant pump are driven by a timing belt. The engine is transversely mounted in the front of the vehicle and is equipped with a noise-absorbing casing. This engine is available in 2 versions:
  • DW10 ATED - with air heat exchanger;
  • DW10 TD - without heat exchanger.

The DW10 ATED engine is an improved modification of the DW10 TD engine. Improved power characteristics and torque parameters are achieved by regulating turbocharging pressure parameters by the electronic engine control unit.

The DW8 engine has a split combustion chamber. Cylinder head with a pre-chamber, type ADVANCED COMET RICARDO (similar to that installed on the TUD5 engine). Oil pan with a capacity that allows oil to be drained using a suction unit. The engine is equipped with a noise-absorbing casing.

Technical data and characteristics of diesel engines are given in Table 4.1.
