Installation of MA gearbox (Peugeot 206)

Install the gearbox in the following order:

• check for oil leaks through the engine crankshaft and gearbox input shaft seals;
• check the wear of the friction linings of the driven clutch disc;
• replace the axle shaft flange seals;
• apply a thin layer of MOLIKOTE BR2 PLUS grease to the sliding surface of the clutch release bearing;

Caution: Do not apply grease to the input shaft splines.

• connect the gearbox to the engine;
• tighten the gearbox housing mounting bolts to a torque of 40 Nm;
• install bracket 1 (see figure 6.38) and tighten the mounting bolts to a torque of 25 Nm;
• install elastic support 3, tightening the fastening nut to a torque of 65 Nm;
• relieve the elastic support with a cross-beam to hold the power unit;
• install the elastic support so that it is pressed;
• install bolts 2 and tighten them to a torque of 65 Nm;
• remove the cross member (see figure 6.37);
• lubricate the pressing surface of the washer in zone A with TOTAL N3945 grease;

• fill the bushing 1 with tire mounting paste (figure 6.41) in zone B;
• install the clutch cable in place;
• press the clutch pedal all the way down and release it several times;
• check for jamming;
• check the position of the clutch pedal;
• install the starter and tighten the mounting bolts to a torque of 22 Nm;
• complete the installation of the gearbox in the reverse order of removal.
