The Peugeot 305 has a welded "monocoque" body (with working skin), built using a large number of prefabricated parts. This design is a direct result of tests carried out by the company. The interior has a rigid, crush-resistant structure and is protected at the front and rear by special devices that absorb impact energy. Side impact protection is achieved through the use of a ribbed reinforced floor, anti-jamming treads under all conditions, and a well-protected fuel tank. The hood lid fasteners are specially designed to prevent the lid from moving rearward in a frontal collision.

After thorough anti-corrosion preparation, the structural parts of the body are coated with a special compound that prevents chipping. A mixture of paraffin and resins is injected into the internal cavities. The Peugeot 305 is a shining example of a reliable and durable car that does credit to its manufacturer.
