Handbrake lever - removal and installation
1. Block the front wheels and put the car in gear. Raise and support the rear of the car. Turn off the handbrake.
2. Loosen the handbrake cable adjusting bushings where they exit the floor of the vehicle.
3. Working inside the vehicle, unscrew and remove the mounting nuts and bolts and disconnect the handbrake cables from the equalizer.
4. Disconnect the handbrake indicator switch wiring and remove the handbrake lever from the vehicle.
5. The lever is installed in reverse order. When finished, adjust the handbrake (see section 4).

6. Follow the instructions in paragraphs 1-3 (see above), remove the brake drums (see section 7) and disconnect the cables from the levers on the brake shoes.
7. Remove the cables by pulling them through the floor of the car and the rear brake support discs.
8. Installation of cables is carried out in reverse order. Pre-lubricate the inner core of each cable in its sheath with a universal lubricant, leaving the tips, which are installed in the levers on the brake shoes, dry.
9. Upon completion, adjust the handbrake (see section 4).
