Engine and gearbox — connection to each other (Peugeot 305)

1. Support the engine and lift the gearbox into place. You may need to rotate the transmission slightly to allow the splined drive shaft to engage the clutch disc.

2. Install the box on the pins, insert the bolts and tighten them.

Models before September 1986.

3. Install the bottom cover and tighten its bolts.

4. Install the starter and tighten its bolts.

5. Install the TDC sensor with the holder and tighten its bolts. The new TDC sensor has three 1.0 mm long supports, which automatically position the sensor 1.0 mm from the flywheel. When installing the old sensor, the supports should be filed down, after which the sensor can be inserted all the way so that it touches the flywheel, and then pulled out 1.0 mm and fixed in this position with bolts.
