When carrying out work on the engine, if elements of the fuel injection system are affected, the following points should be taken into account:
  • Never start the engine if the battery terminals are not tightened.
  • Never disconnect the battery while the engine is running.
  • Be sure to disconnect the battery before charging.
  • Never use a battery with a voltage higher than 12 volts to start the engine.
  • Never turn off the electronic control unit when the ignition is on.
  • Before connecting the connectors, check the condition of the contacts and check the reliability of the contact installation in the connector. On the Bosch connector, check the installation of the retaining spring.
  • When carrying out electric welding work, be sure to disconnect the electronic control unit from the on-board network.
  • When checking compression, disconnect the electronic control unit connector.
  • Do not use a test lamp to check electrical circuits.
