2. All parts that are badly worn, loose or damaged must be replaced immediately. Below is a list of parts that are particularly susceptible to wear and tear, and a list of parts that should be checked especially carefully for loose fasteners. Particularly susceptible to wear are:
- a. Ball joints of the lower suspension arms
- b. Rubber bushings for lower suspension arms
- c. Shock absorbers and their mounting bushings
- g. Ball joints and inner joints of the transverse steering rods
- d. Rack and pinion steering mechanism
- e. Steering column bushing
- g. Front and rear wheel bearings
- z. Rear trailing arm bushings
- i. Anti-roll bar bushings
The reliability of the fastening of the parts listed below can be checked by physically moving them manually or using tools. The following are especially frequently disconnected:
- k. Anti-roll bars
- l. Steering gear mounting bolts
- m. Coupling for fastening the steering rack to the steering column
- n. Upper and lower shock absorber mounts
- o. Rear trailing arms
The checks indicated represent the necessary minimum.
