Grounding check
Turn on the power consumers.
Measure the voltage between the alternator case and the negative battery terminal.
If the voltage is less than 0.5V, check the battery wires
If the voltage is higher than 0.5 V, clean and tighten the fastening of the generator support, grounding «masses» motor to body and wires «masses» battery.
Check the correct operation of the system. If the problem persists, install a new wire «masses» battery.
Checking the battery wire
Turn on the power consumers.
Measure the voltage between terminal «B+» alternator and positive battery terminal.
If the voltage is less than 0.5 V, check the battery power supplied to the generator.
If the voltage is higher than 0.5 V, clean and tighten the battery wire harness fitting.
Check the correct operation of the system. If the problem persists, install a new battery cable.
Checking the battery power supplied to the generator
Measure the voltage between terminal «B+» generator and «weight».
If the voltage is equal to the battery voltage, check the current supplied to the alternator regulator.
If the voltage does not match the battery voltage, repair or replace the alternator circuit. Check the correct operation of the system.
Checking the current supplied to the generator regulator
Switch off the ignition.
Disconnect the generator.
Measure the voltage between the generator output on the wiring side and «weight».
If the voltage is more than 10V, check the engine ECU and alternator communication circuit.
If the voltage does not match this value and the F11 fuse is good, repair the electrical circuit between the generator and the regulator. Check the correct operation of the system.
