A new method for installing the timing drive of the TU3JP engine is used starting with the factory serial number 3666766.

Please note: Old and new timing drive components cannot be interchanged.


Engines with serial numbers up to 3666765 used timing drive components with the following characteristics:
  • the camshaft timing belt pulley had 42 teeth;
  • a classic tension roller is installed;
  • the water pump pulley had 20 teeth;
  • the crankshaft pulley had 21 teeth;
  • the timing belt had 108 teeth.

Engines with serial number 3666766 and later use timing drive components with the following characteristics:
  • the camshaft timing belt pulley must have 38 teeth;
  • a dynamic tension roller is installed;
  • the water pump pulley must have 18 teeth;
  • the crankshaft pulley must have 19 teeth;
  • the timing belt must have 104 teeth.
