
120. Turn the 1/2 and 3/4 gear rod so that the slots of the locks are free of balls. Pull the rod out of the forks.

121. Where applicable, remove the 5th gear shift rod from the 1/2 gear fork.
112. Inspect the forks and rods for wear and damage and replace them if necessary.
123. Begin assembly by inserting the 5th gear rod into the 1/2 gear fork.
124. Bring the 3/4 gear fork to the 1/2 gear fork so that their holes and shift fingers are aligned.
125. Insert the 1/2 and 3/4 gear rods into the forks, positioning the locking hole as shown in B/Figure 12.61. Place the slots of all the shift fingers in one line so that the shift mechanism can be moved to the neutral position (see photo).
