89. These nuts can be loosened without removing the box from the machine. To do this, put the box in gear and apply the handbrake. Remove the end cap and loosen the drive and output shaft nuts. (The drive shaft nut is integrated with the oil sprinkler). Reinstall the cover and proceed with further procedures for removing the box.
90. With the gearbox removed from the machine, the best way to block the shafts from rotating is to put in some gear and block the drive shaft with an old clutch plate to which a metal bar is welded (see b/fig. 12.58). Using any other method may damage the driveshaft splines.
91. After the nuts of the drive and output shafts are loosened, you can proceed to further disassembly of the box (see disassembly procedure for 5-speed transmission, omitting all mention of 5th gear).
