Air filter (Peugeot 306)

Figure 431 shows a typical air cleaner location on a non-turbocharged diesel engine. On an engine running with a catalytic converter, the connection is slightly different, as the hose is connected to the rear of the engine. On a regular diesel engine there is an air distribution box in the middle of the cylinder head. The air intake system on a turbodiesel engine is shown in Figure 429.



The replacement of the filter element can be done using these two drawings. The element is replaced every 30,000 km.

The paper filter element cannot be cleaned and must be replaced in accordance with the operating instructions. When operating a vehicle in dusty conditions, the filter element should be replaced more frequently.
