Towing Precautions
Since the gearbox is lubricated only when the engine is running, towing the vehicle is permitted with the drive wheels raised. In exceptional cases, vehicles with automatic transmissions may be towed for distances of up to 50 km at a maximum speed of 50 km/h, with the selector in the "N" position. If a flatbed trailer is available, only the front of the vehicle may be lifted.
Precautions for operation and repair
Please observe the following rules:
- when the car is moving:
- it is prohibited to drive with the ignition off;
- it is prohibited to tow a vehicle for the purpose of starting the engine, as this is impossible if the vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission;
- do not lower the gearbox onto bare ground;
- do not use the tubes as handles to lift, turn, pull, or push the transmission;
- be sure to insert the torque converter retaining pin when removing the transmission. Remove the pin just before connecting the engine to the gearbox;
- when performing any work on the gearbox, take all necessary measures to maintain cleanliness;
- it is prohibited to disconnect:
- battery with the engine running;
- computer with ignition on;
- before connecting any electrical connector, check:
- condition of all terminals (for deformation, oxidation, etc.);
- presence and condition of mechanical locking;
- when checking electrical equipment:
- the battery must be fully charged;
- it is prohibited to use a voltage source greater than 16 V;
- do not use the test lamp;
- when driving in emergency mode (The automatic transmission is locked and hydraulically engaged in 3rd gear) it is prohibited to exceed the speed of 100 km/h.
