1. In 1984 steel case base seals were replaced with paper seals. Changes were also made to the design of the sleeves (for sleeve seal markings, see Specifications).
2. New liners and seals can be installed as a kit on older motors, but new seals cannot be used with old liners (and vice versa). For new seals, the following cylinder head bolt tightening sequence must be followed.
3. To check up, that bolts of a head of cylinders have category 10.9, and then to tighten them in the sequence shown on fig. 1.19, until the moment specified in Specifications for stage 1.
4. In the same sequence, tighten the bolts to the torque specified in Specifications for stage 2.
5. Start the engine and let it warm up to operating temperature, then turn it off and tighten each bolt 35°. The valve clearances must then be adjusted.
6. There is no need to re-tighten the cylinder head bolts after the first 1000 miles.
