Removing
Turn away bolts (1) and remove the decorative cover.
Disconnect the camshaft camshaft adjuster solenoid valve (WT).
Disconnect the oil vapor recirculation hose.
Remove the air filter. Disconnect the oil vapor recirculation hose to the cylinder head cover.
Remove the camshaft rotation control solenoid valve (WT). Remove the head covers (4).
Note. Close the solenoid valve for controlling the timing mechanism with a plug (VVI) and its bore on the cylinder head.
Attention. When disconnecting the hose with a quick 0. detachable connection (3) wrap a piece of cloth around the connector to protect against possible sloshing of fuel (residual pressure in the fuel rail: 1 bar).
Connect the tool to the bleed valve.
Install a container to collect escaping fuel.
Disconnect the fuel supply pipe (3).
Disconnect injection nozzles (8). Disconnect and move the wiring harnesses, tubes and cables going to the throttle body. Remove the wiring harness support (2). Disconnect the pipe (6), coolant hoses (5).
Loosen the nuts and bolts and remove the intake manifold (7).
Close the inlet pipes with plugs.
Remove the fastening clamps, disconnect and set aside the connectors and electrical harnesses passing in the area of the cylinder head.
Remove the accessory drive belt (see corresponding operation) and the timing belt tensioner pulley. Remove the bolt (7) lower right engine mount going to the cylinder head.
Install the right engine mount (8).
Remove the lift.
Sequentially loosen the head bolts, moving in a spiral from the outside to the inside.
Install a shop crane.
Install tools 1 and 2.
Support the head/manifold assembly with a lifter. Turn over and remove the cylinder head using the levers. Raise the head assembly with the manifold using a lifter. Remove the cylinder head and head gasket.
Clean up joining planes (do not use cutting or abrasive tools)
Attention. The planes to be joined must not show signs of impacts or cracks.
Installation
Check for center bushings.
Check the flatness of the cylinder head.
Fix the camshafts at the control points (see corresponding operation).
Install the gasket and head assembly with the manifold using a mobile hoist.
Attention. Install the head bolts, having previously lubricated the threads and the plane under the bolt head with grease «Molykote e rapid plus E3».
Reinstalling the head is done with new bolts.
Re-tightening of the head after disassembly is prohibited.
Support the engine with a crane.
Remove:
- plugs of air supply channels;
- right engine mount (8).
Wrap the bolt (7) right engine mount.
Install:
- implement drive belt (see corresponding operation);
- head cover;
- block of ignition coils;
- intake air manifold;
- intake manifold mounting bolts;
- coolant outlet chamber;
- engine wiring harness mounting support;
- rechargeable battery.
Connect the EVAP hose connected to the cylinder head cover and the fuel supply hose.
Install the air filter unit and damper actuator.
Connect the exhaust manifold to the exhaust system.
Fill with coolant and purge circuit (see corresponding operation).
Install the air cleaner housing.
Connect the battery.
