1. Connect gearbox to engine (see chapter 6, section 6).
2. If the gearbox has not been disassembled, it is advisable to remove the bottom cover of the box and then the oil intake strainer, which is attached with 3 bolts. Thoroughly clean the filter in kerosene and, if possible, dry it with compressed air. Install the filter in place with a new rubber seal and tighten its 3 bolts to the desired torque. Install the bottom cover with a new gasket and tighten its 13 mounting bolts to the correct torque. This operation will prevent dirt and sediment from the filter or sump from entering the overhauled engine.
