Repair of the brake booster is not performed, since special tools are required for its disassembly and assembly. Failure of the power steering does not mean any loss of braking efficiency; it simply means that the force required on the brake pedal increases in order to maintain the same braking distance.

It should be remembered that when driving downhill with the engine off, after several presses of the brake pedal, all the vacuum is used up and after this the braking system operates without power steering. Accordingly, the efforts required for braking become greater.

To gain access to the power steering, the brake master cylinder must be removed. It can be removed by unscrewing the nuts from four studs inside the car.

A spring bar and a cotter pin are used to secure the pressure rod to the brake pedal. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the fitting.

The filters at the end of the power steering push rod can be replaced. To do this, remove the dust cover, remove the filter mount and press out the filter with a sharp object. To install new filters on the traction, they must be cut from the inside out.
